CHENGDU, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region said Sunday that China's Pan-Pearl River Delta (PPRD) region will have more developing chances than any other regions in the world.
Tsang made the sentence in Chengdu, capital of Southwestern China's Sichuan province when he met with Zhang Zhongwei, secretary of Sichuan provincial committee of the Communist Party of China. Tsang is going to attend the upcoming second PPRD Regional Cooperation and Development Forum and the second PPRD Region Economic and Trade Fair held in Chengdu.
“Hong Kong has always been actively participating in PPRD regional cooperation. The mainland market is the biggest market to Hong Kong,” Tsang said.
Tsang said Hong Kong is interested in all aspects of the developing of PPRD region, especially in the traffic and infrastructure building in PPRD region, which will be the most concerned topic for Hong Kong delegation in this forum.
“This forum is important to Hong Kong, especially the three branch forums on exploiting financial market, development of modern logistic and intelligence properties protection in the Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, which Hong Kong has advantages in. We are interested in them,” said Tsang.
Tsang also invited all the companies in PPRD region to attend the financial forum Hong Kong is going to hold next year. He believes that Hong Kong's mature financial industry is helpful for mainland companies' ”going out”.
The Pan-Pearl River Delta Region, known as "9+2," comprises Guangdong, Hainan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian provinces and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions. It is the largest regional cooperation among China's eight provinces, one autonomous region and two special administrative regions. |
